The Importance of Good Content
The online world has opened up huge possibilities for businesses, celebrities, individuals, influencers and just about anyone or anything you can think of.
It is easy to establish yourself online through any of the big social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc) and it has never been easier to get yourself a website either.
Having a channel to speak directly to the world isn’t enough though – you need strong content.
Content is anything that is housed within your website or social media channel.
WHY DO I NEED GOOD CONTENT?
If you want to gain traction, followers, likes, web traffic etc then you need good content. Put yourself in someone else’s situation – why are they going to come to you?
Or, here’s another question: why do you follow a particular influencer, podcast or website? Obviously the content they produce is something you want.
So, having something nice to share with the world is the best way to kick things off. It can be a funny video, a joke, something knowledgeable or something else entirely.
The key point here is this: the content you create needs to be something that others want to consume.

In the early days of the internet, written content was king and slowly that evolved into pictures and now video is number one.
That isn’t to say that there is no place for written content anymore, far from it. In fact, written content like SEO and blogs play a huge part in any content strategy.
People’s online habits continually evolve but content is the one thing that everyone still wants. Some of the different types of content you can produce are:

- podcasts
- blogs
In summary, having something relevant to say to the world is the best way to come up with great content. Don’t try too hard to come up with content either. Understand what it is you are trying to accomplish and go from there because ultimately, if you are to gain followers and keep them, you need to stick true to your values.
